CBHI SERVICES

In-Home Therapy (IHT)

In-Home Therapy is an intensive, strength-based therapeutic service delivered by a team consisting of a Masters Level clinician and a bachelor’s level paraprofessional.  IHT services are provided in any setting where the youth is naturally located, including, but not limited to, the home, foster care, school, child care settings, and other community settings. Services are intensive and flexible to meet the needs of the families.

Objectives of IHT:

  • Develop a consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationship with the youth and family to help achieve or return to a normal level of functioning

  • Improve the family’s ability to provide effective support for the youth to promote healthy functioning within the family

  • Enhance the family’s capacity to improve the youth’s functioning in the home and community

  • Prevent the need for the youth’s admission to long-term treatment facility like inpatient hospital facilities.

  • Children under the age of 21 years can be referred for IHT, but the intervention is family-based the treatment plan may include parents and other siblings. Unlike TM, IHT is not hub-dependent but rather can be stand-alone. Anybody can refer a child for IHT services: parents, school system, or outpatient provider.

Therapeutic Mentoring (TM)

Therapeutic Mentoring offers structured, one-to-one, strength-based support services between a therapeutic mentor and a youth under the age of 21 years,  for the purpose of addressing life, and social challenges. Specific services that are typically provided include coaching, confidence-building, boundary-setting, and conflict resolution.

Therapeutic Mentoring services are provided mostly in community settings such as schools, child care centers, respite, as well as other culturally and linguistically appropriate community settings, and may also be provided at home.

Referral for a Therapeutic Mentoring, therefore, must come from one of the following:

  • Out-Patient Services (OP)

  • In-Home Therapy (IHT)

  • Intensive Care Coordination

Therapeutic Mentoring (TM) is not a stand-alone service but rather a clinical hub-dependent service.
